By Car

I-15 passes west of the Park and connects with UT-9 , exit 16, and UT-17, exit 27. US-89 passes east of the park and connects with UT-9, at the Mt. Carmel Junction.

  • You can access the Kolob Canyon Visitor Center from exit 40 on I-15.
  • You can access the Zion Canyon Visitor Center from UT-9 near
Springdale, Utah - a short distance from the park’s South entrance
  • Due to narrow passageways, large vehicles (7'10'' wide or wider or 11'4'' in height, or higher) approaching from the east on UT-9 require an ''escort'' through the Zion-Mt. Carmel Tunnel. An escort is $15 per vehicle and is good for 2-trips through the tunnel for the same vehicle during a 7-day period.
  • If you are in a large vehicle and do not want to pay the escort fee, you must enter and exit through the south entrance of the park.

  • By Air

The closest major airport is Las Vegas International, 158 miles (254 km), 3-hours southwest of the park. A smaller airport is located in St. George, UT, 46 miles (74.1 km), 1-hour southwest of the park.

    By Shuttle

Shuttle service runs from March-October with six pick-up spots in Springdale. Once in the park, the Zion Canyon Shuttle loop stops at eight locations in the park. Shuttle service is free and unlimited. The shuttle is your best option if you plan on coming later than mid-morning, as the parking lot is usually full by then.

  • Buses run approximately every 7 minutes, so there’s no need to rush after one if you miss it.
  • Times change with the season. Up to date schedules are posted at each shuttle stop, the Visitor Centers, and in your park guide.

  • Hours of Operation

Zion National Park is open to the public every day of the year, however some facilities and services may close or reduce their hours during the off season
